Who is The Stories Project?

This year’s golf outing charity event beneficiary is nonother than The Stories Project. The Stories Project is a nonprofit organization led by Tom Mitt with a mission to honor and celebrate the stories that fill the lives of our community.

They do so by recording a conversationally styled interview with beloved citizens from local communities and then providing them with an unedited digital copy of their interview to give to their families and loved ones as a keepsake so that future generations can learn about the history of their ancestors. Not only does The Stories Project gift the families unedited footage of their loved ones, but there is now a public library of edited versions of each interview on YouTube so that anyone can benefit from the stories they tell.

Tom’s perseverance in pursuing his mission is gilded by an African proverb that he thinks often of, it goes as, “When a man dies, a library is burned down.” If you’re interested in Tom’s mission and want to learn more about The Stories Project, head over to their website at thestoriesproject.org or click on the following link to donate to the cause.
