Rogue Wave Marketing founder and CEO, Sarah Feldmann, has been named Global United BizX Young Entrepreneur of 2021.
Sarah has led Rogue Wave Marketing to exponential growth through the pandemic, investing in the company at a time when other entrepreneurs were cutting back on business expenses. She invested 100% of pandemic related PPP and EIDL loans into hiring a full, in-house team covering website development, social media management, graphic design, marketing coaching, project management and business development.
“At a time when everyone was cutting back because of the pandemic and economic downturn, I decided to take a big leap and build a full-service team,” says Feldmann. “With unemployment up, qualified people were desperate for work and I was determined to create a win-win.” Not only did Rogue Wave experience a spike in business as a result, but projects were being completed more effectively and efficiently. “I like to think in terms of a positive mindset with abundance of opportunity. During a pandemic, it felt like a stretch at first, but I had faith in my timing and plan, and jumped right in. We are now reaping the rewards including the best part, which is seeing our clients prosper.”
Feldmann is also passionate about building a collaborative business community. She is the founder of Propel, an organization empowering women in business to embrace their vision with confidence, know-how and collaboration. Feldmann says, “I have seen too many female entrepreneurs fail without adequate support from their community. Locally, there was an annual conference for women in business, but what were we to do during the other eleven months of the year? I decided to develop a program that would solve the problem and provide women in business with a resource all year long.” Propel holds a conference for female entrepreneurs once each business quarter at various locations around Wisconsin. “It is my goal to inform, inspire and motivate women entrepreneurs with knowledge that will fuel their fire.” Feldmann also helps to lead collaboration and networking groups The Offsite Collaboration Center and Greater Milwaukee Young Professionals.
